

The microwave was 18 months overdue for a radiation leak safety test (as per AS3350.2.25) the fire extinguisher was 11 months overdue for an inspection (as per AS1851). The inside of the microwave had not been cleaned. While the room had a microwave, there were no microwave-safe bowls or saucepans in which to cook. No toaster, no tea towels, no dishcloths no bottle/can opener, no strainer, no sharp knife, not enough cutlery or plates for 4 people. The room lacked even the most basic set of utensils for a kitchenette. We booked a sleeps-4 apartment with kitchenette in September, 2022. This hotel needs a LOT of work to bring it up to Ibis Styles standard. There was a lady at reception on the fourth night she was lovely and cared about people the rest of them couldn’t care less. The laundry dirty and clean sheets towels stored near the rubbish bin at the entrance to the rooms with a foul smell. The curtains are falling of the rails and looked liked they had never been washed the wash basin had a crack in it which was puttied up the sink plug was stuck and when they did fix it the most putrid smell came from the drain. Came out in even worse rash the next morning and asked to have the linen changed and washed in another detergant which they did but the next morning still a rash. Came out in a really bad rash after the second night asked to have the room inspected came back after a day out nothing done not even the bed was made so they didn’t check anything.

The fellow at reception couldn’t have cared less about the patrons whatsoever. I have been all over the world and never comes across this kind of sub standard accomodation.

I spent four horrible nights at this hotel with a group. By this point we just wanted to get the hell out of there! When we told the manager in the morning he offered us a free breakfast, however breakfast had already finished being served. A third party security company had to come and let people in. There were other guests that could not get to the area of the hotel where they were staying. The “after hours “ phone number on the front door is for reception not available after 10pm. On the second night I was left locked outside in the rain with my 5yo son because the after hours entrance wouldn’t accept my room key. Especially when the carpark was so full that you have to park in what felt like a back paddock.

The car parking is very dodgy, with signage everywhere saying that the hotel takes zero responsibility for any damage to cars, doesn’t give you much faith. The room was noisy, as it was positioned directly above the main bar/lobby. We used the 2 teabags that were supplied and requested some more the next day, we are still waiting…. Once in our room - TV wouldn’t work, no body wash in the shower, carpets were filthy. Check in took more than 20minutes, 5 people behind the reception checking in 2 people.
